adhoc Party coming soon for European PSPs through PS3s

Handheld gaming online through PS3s

News: adhoc Party coming soon for European PSPs through PS3s

Sony has announced that adhoc Party, the free application which allows PSPs to use the PS3 to connect to other adhoc players around the world, has launched in the US and will be out soon in Europe.

The service, which currently only supports Gran Turismo and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, utilises the PS3's PSN access to turn local adhoc multiplayer into true online gaming.

If you want to brush up on adhoc Party, you can do so at the US PS blog now. And yes, we would too.

Hopefully more games will be added to the list of supported games soon - we're banking on getting our Gitaroo Man Lives! groove on with strangers soon.

It's a ridiculously elaborate system for getting the PSP online, but at least this sort of thing will finally be available five years after the PSP's launch.
