Miyamoto interested in a LittleBigMario

That almost sounds perverse

News: Miyamoto interested in a LittleBigMario

Nintendo designer/God Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed his interest in user generated content and that the classic 2D side-scrolling Mario titles are well suited to the idea.

In a translated interview with Joystiq, Miyamoto responded to questions about whether he was interested in giving players the tools to create their own levels:

"This is an area that I have a lot of interest in, and I think that the side-scrolling Mario games in particular are well suited to that idea."

Nintendo and Mario games are no stranger to user-generated content, with Flipnote Studios, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis and Super Smash Bros. Brawl all having a form of user generated content.

Asked if he was considering working on a LittleBigPlanet-style Mario title, Miyamoto responded:

"I think those types of interactive experiences are going to continue to broaden and we'll see a lot more user-generated content going forward. I've always had an interest in those kinds of creative tools, so I will definitely be open to ideas like that in the future."

Poor Sackboy, a user-generated content Mario would rip his zip right open and pound the stuffing right out of him.

Thanks, Joystiq.
