That's some deluxe treatment for what is sure to be one of the last big Wii games, and it seems to <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/09/the-creative-maturity-of-hironobu-sakaguchis-last-story/">deserve the attention</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/11/the-last-story-finally-comes-to-north-america-on-aug-14/">The Last Story finally comes to North America on Aug. 14</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2012 17:00:00 EST. Now you can see it for yourself in this video developer blog. Lead developer Steve Piggott also discusses what makes Chivalry's first-person medievalness different from other melee combat, such as its reliance on human reaction time and weapons with meaningful differences (e.g. the gap in distance between a polearm and a hand axe).<br /><br />That just leaves us with one question: how destroying a whole village, setting all the houses on fire, and killing every resident is <em>chivalrous</em>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/11/chivalrys-medieval-warfare-demonstrated/">Chivalry's medieval warfare demonstrated</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2012 15:30:00 EST. It's finally been announced for North America, and we don't have much more waiting to do - it's coming July 24, for $9.99.<br /><br /><em>Malicious</em> centers on a series of boss fights in which you employ a sort of magical scarf that can change shape into various melee or even projectile weapons. Like <em>Mega Man</em>, you can choose the order in which you face these boss battles - and like <em>Mega Man</em>, you absorb powers from defeated bosses.<br /><br />The version coming out here is for PS3. There's also a <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/24/ps3s-malicious-coming-to-playstation-vita-with-extra-content/">Vita version</a> in Japan, but that has not been announced for North America.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/malicious-ps3/">Malicious (PS3)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/malicious-ps3/#5147478"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/malicious7111_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/malicious-ps3/#5147479"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/malicious7112_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/malicious-ps3/#5147480"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/malicious7113_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/malicious-ps3/#5147483"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/malicious7114_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/11/psn-action-game-malicious-arrives-on-north-american-ps3s-july/">PSN action game 'Malicious' arrives in North America on July 24</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2012 12:00:00 EST. But you can pay $15 (or more, if you choose) now via a widget on the <a href="http://tomorrowcorporation.com/littleinferno">official website</a>, in order to secure access to a beta version before it's released. "The Windows beta versions will be first, since we are developing the game on Windows," TC notes. "You are still welcome to sign up if you require Mac or Linux, but we do not yet know when we will have those versions ready for testing."<br /><br />The beta build of the game is not ready yet, but pre-ordering will give you a "small preview of the soundtrack." Beta access will be rolled out "in small batches," in an order determined primarily by the order in which pre-orders are received, along with various testing-related parameters. "Depending on the number of signups, we cannot guarantee a beta seat for everyone," the developer warns.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/11/get-early-access-to-little-inferno-beta-by-pre-ordering/">Get early access to Little Inferno beta by pre-ordering</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2012 11:00:00 EST. You can see the iPad version of <em>Tiny Wings 2.0</em> in the TouchArcade playthrough video above. According to an <a href="http://andriasang.com/con1vt/metal_gear_announcement/">early report</a> out of Famitsu, a Japanese budget re-release in August will be accompanied by the long-awaited patch to add Trophies to the game. The budget "The Best" version will have Trophy support included, but a concurrent patch will add it to existing copies.<br /><br />According to Andriasang's source, Kojima Productions will hold a Metal Gear anniversary event in Tokyo on August 30, during which Hideo Kojima will announce something new, related in some way to the data-sharing "Transfarring" feature found in <em>Metal Gear Solid HD Collection</em>. Specifically, "Transfarring" was a test of part of the "vision" for this new game.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> After a closer look at the Famitsu article, <a href="http://andriasang.com/con1wf/mgs_shinkawa_famitsu_cover/">Andriasang</a> reports that the arrival of the Trophy patch has not been explicitly tied to the August release of the budget version. However, since the budget re-release will support Trophies natively, it follows that the patch would be ready around the same time.<br /><br /><strong>Update 2:</strong> Konami's official Twitter account <a href="https://twitter.com/Konami/status/223141624895635457/photo/1">confirmed</a> that a patch and a new game version are currently in the works.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/11/report-metal-gear-solid-4-finally-getting-trophies/">Metal Gear Solid 4 finally getting Trophies [Update: Konami confirms]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 11 Jul 2012 09:30:00 EST. In order to warm up an increasingly cooler world, you ... throw as many toys as you can into a fireplace. That's the premise, anyway. This is just the first teaser, so all the details of how you'll burn up toys have yet to be discussed.<br /><br />"Burn flaming logs, screaming robots, credit cards, batteries, exploding fish, unstable nuclear devices, and tiny galaxies," Tomorrow says. "An adventure that takes place almost entirely in front of a fireplace - about looking up up up out of the chimney, and the cold world just on the other side of the wall."<br /><br />The new game from former <em>World of Goo</em> and <em>Henry Hatsworth</em> creators will be released on PC, Mac, Linux ... and Wii U. The latter platform was likely added in a nod to<em> World of Goo's</em> singular success on WiiWare.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/10/little-inferno-trailer-warms-hearts-burns-stuff/">Little Inferno trailer warms hearts, burns stuff</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2012 21:00:00 EST. Activision hasn't shown or talked about much outside of the HD version, to the point that this is likely to be your first look at the DS version - which has been out since June.<br /><br />Developer Other Ocean Interactive - known for <a href="http://joystiq.com/tag/amazing-spider-man"><em>Dark Void Zero</em></a>, among other things - got in touch with Joystiq to let us know it was responsible for the DS Spidey game - which, like previous DS Spidey tie-ins by developers like Griptonite, eschews the big-screen games' 3D action for hand-drawn, side-scrolling 2D.<br /><br />It's a different take on the <em>Amazing Spider-Man</em> franchise, just like the movie was a different take on the origin story for some reason.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-amazing-spider-man-ds/">The Amazing Spider-Man (DS)</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-amazing-spider-man-ds/#5145758"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/spidey7101_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-amazing-spider-man-ds/#5145759"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/spidey7102_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-amazing-spider-man-ds/#5145760"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/spidey7103_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-amazing-spider-man-ds/#5145761"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/spidey7104_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/the-amazing-spider-man-ds/#5145762"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/spidey7105_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/10/amazing-spider-mans-ds-game-spun-by-dark-void-zero-dev/">Amazing Spider-Man's DS game spun by Dark Void Zero dev</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2012 17:30:00 EST. Now, Rovio has announced the <em>Angry Birds Trilogy</em>, a collection of <em>Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons</em>, and <em>Angry Birds Rio</em>, on a PS3 or Xbox 360 disc or 3DS cartridge, for release this holiday season.<br /><br />"You can think of the game as the ultimate collector's edition," Rovio EVP of Games Petri J&auml;rvilehto told <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/10/angry-birds-trilogy-coming-to-ps3-360-and-3ds">IGN</a>. "There are new cinematics, extras and other entertaining content. In addition all of the existing material has been uprezzed and re-treated for the high-resolution and big screen." New "reactive" backgrounds take advantage of the fact that you're playing on a screen big enough to see backgrounds.<br /><br />The upgrades also feature Kinect and Move capability, as well as StreetPass functionality on 3DS. Most importantly, they support the "being able to be bought and given as holiday gifts" functionality that Rovio has lacked so far.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/10/angry-birds-trilogy-goes-retail-on-3ds-xbox-360-and-ps3/">Angry Birds Trilogy goes retail on 3DS, Xbox 360 and PS3</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2012 14:00:00 EST. The drive is already over $112,000 into its $950,000 goal, with 29 days to go. It appears people are eager to get their hands on an Android-powered, easily programmable, cheap console - which makes us even more confused that Google dropped the ball with the <a href="https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_Q?id=nexus_q">Nexus Q</a>. That could have been exactly the same thing as the Ouya, but for some reason Google limited its media capabilities to music and videos. <em>So close</em>.<br /><br />Oh, and from that Kickstarter page: "OOO-yah." We were wondering too.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ouya-game-console-0/">Ouya Game Console</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ouya-game-console-0/#5144462"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/ouya-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ouya-game-console-0/#5144463"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/ouya-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ouya-game-console-0/#5144464"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/ouya-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ouya-game-console-0/#5144465"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/ouya-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/photos/ouya-game-console-0/#5144466"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2012/07/ouya-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/10/ouya-console-seeks-funding-through-kickstarter/">Ouya console seeks funding through Kickstarter</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2012 12:20:00 EST. That means we can finally understand what Kinect PlayFit is: a special "fitness dashboard" that tracks your calories lost across multiple Kinect games, "from <em>Dance Central 2</em> to <em>Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2012</em> to <em>Kinect Star Wars," </em>according to Microsoft.<br /><br />The dashboard also features leaderboards and social "activity challenges," two ideas that probably either motivate you to keep up your fitness routine or make you feel very uncomfortable, depending on how fit you <em>already</em> are. It even has its own Achievements.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/10/xboxs-kinect-playfit-dashboard-keeps-track-of-cross-game-calo/">Xbox's 'Kinect PlayFit' dashboard keeps track of cross-game calorie burning</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2012 10:20:00 EST. In addition to its slate of digest-sized books about indecisive time-lost teens, Archie has published<em> Sonic the Hedgehog</em> comics since 1993 (allowing plenty of time to build a unique and insane Sonic universe), and it began publishing <em>Mega Man</em> comics last year.<br /><br />Having this historic meeting take place in the world of comic books rather than video games doesn't make it any <em>less</em> bizarre, and we can't wait to see what happens. Will Mega Man destroy Sonic and steal his speed?<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> According to <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/life/comics/story/2012-07-10/Sonic-the-Hedgehog-Mega-Man-crossover/56118040/1">USA Today</a>, the crossover will take place in twelve installments across Archie's <em>Sonic the Hedgehog, Mega Man</em>, and<em> Sonic Universe</em> series.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/10/mega-man-to-meet-sonic-in-upcoming-comics/">Mega Man to meet Sonic in upcoming comics</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Tue, 10 Jul 2012 09:30:00 EST. The booth (number 3829) will host demos of <em><a href="http://joystiq.com/game/hitman-absolution">Hitman Absolution</a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/kingdom-hearts-3d">Kingdom Hearts 3D</a>, <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/sleeping-dogs">Sleeping Dogs</a></em>, and <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/tomb-raider-2012"><em>Tomb Raider</em></a>.<br /><br />In addition, <em>Kingdom Hearts </em>and <em>Heroes of Ruin</em> will be at the "Nintendo Lounge" at the Marriott Marquis &amp; Marina. Square games will also be on display at the GameSpot Gameroom, Spike booth, and the Xbox Lounge.<br /><br />In addition to all that, Square Enix will sponsor the "Nerd HQ" event and show off its games there, including over 20 playable <em>Tomb Raider</em> demo stations. There will also be a <em>Tomb Raider </em>panel on Saturday, a Hitman "photo sniping contest," a cosplay event, and several other ways to spend your whole Comic-Con only looking at one publisher's video game lineup.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/09/raid-ruin-sleep-and-dream-with-square-enix-at-comic-con/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Raid, Ruin, Sleep, and Dream with Square Enix at Comic-Con</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/09/raid-ruin-sleep-and-dream-with-square-enix-at-comic-con/">Raid, Ruin, Sleep, and Dream with Square Enix at Comic-Con</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jul 2012 14:00:00 EST. During a "Summer of Sonic" event over the weekend, Sega showed footage of NiGHTS and Reala (as vehicles) in the upcoming racer.<br /><br />The dreamy flight game will also be represented in track form, with <a href="http://youtu.be/dSojTIQJ75o">Spring Valley</a> shown as a prototype, and another track based on Nightmare is in progress at developer Sumo Digital. Hori's newest arcade stick ... is themed after a totally different game, but would totally work for <em>KOF</em> or really any fighting game. It would work great, of course, for the game it actually represents.<br /><br />Hori is producing a <a href="http://joystiq.com/game/dead-or-alive-5"><em>Dead or Alive 5</em></a> stick using the same casing as its <a href="http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B008F4MTPC/"><em>Soulcalibur 5</em></a> stick, due alongside the game in September. It's available for both PS3 and Xbox, and features the "I'm a Fighter" slogan, which should be helpful in case you glance down at the device and happen to forget what you're supposed to be doing.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/09/horis-dead-or-alive-5-arcade-stick-is-for-fighters/">Hori's Dead or Alive 5 arcade stick is for fighters</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jul 2012 12:30:00 EST. You may already have Myst on your iPhone or iPad, but now you can get an iPad version of <em>RealMyst</em>, the 2000 remake of the adventure game that presents the world in realtime 3D.<br /><br />The new mobile version uses a new interface designed for the platform. "Instead of trying to awkwardly shoehorn a computer mouse interface or game console controller into the new touch environment - we were driven to design a simple touch interface that anyone could use." said producer Karl Johnson in the announcement. "The resulting interface allows the player to explore a 3D world with the ease of 'exploring' a 2D document on the iPad."<br /><br /><em>RealMyst</em> is on the App Store now for iPad 2 and 3, at a promotional price of $6.99. At an unspecified future date, it'll go up to a permanent $9.99 price point.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/09/myst-gets-real-on-ipad/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Myst gets Real on iPad</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/09/myst-gets-real-on-ipad/">Myst gets Real on iPad</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jul 2012 11:00:00 EST. "One of the reasons why we're not talking about it now is that it's evolving and we need to make further changes before we can start talking about it."<br /><br />The Ubisoft-published shooter was presumed dead after its E3 2011 reveal was followed up by complete silence - a silence only broken by the news that its <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/05/18/expiring-trademarks-suggest-trouble-for-brothers-in-arms-furiou/">trademarks had lapsed</a>. CVG reports that the USPTO rejected the dual trademark application by Ubisoft and Gearbox, and Gearbox is now filing on its own.<br /><br />Of course, evolution is not a quick process, and as a result <em>Furious 4</em> won't make its original 2012 release window. "I might come around to talk about Furious Four between the releases of <em>Borderlands 2</em> and Aliens: Colonial Marines," Pitchford said, "but certainly I won't before the release of <em>Borderlands 2</em>." <em>Borderlands 2</em> is out in September, and <em>Aliens</em> is due in February.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/09/pitchford-brothers-in-arms-furious-4-still-exists-has-evolved/">Pitchford: Brothers in Arms Furious 4 still exists, 'has evolved'</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Mon, 09 Jul 2012 10:00:00 EST. "If anything, your determination and dedication to what you believe in has certainly stood in the face of that. This is an isolated case, a situation precipitated by a number of factors, some of which are simply out of our North American hands." He admits that Atlus was "completely unprepared for the force with which the community communicated their disapproval."<br /><br />Jabbari explained that the North American release contains both Japanese and English audio tracks, and will be released very close to the Japanese version (August 7 in North America and July 26 in Japan). "The unforeseen consequence in all of this was that we had a version of our biggest game of the year releasing within a couple weeks in two territories, both identical in content, but at radically different price points."<br /><br />Because of the difference between the yen and the dollar's values right now, this situation could lead to mass importing, which would "cannibalize the performance of a title in one territory to the benefit of another." For reference, the Japanese retail price of <em>Persona 4 Arena</em> is <a href="http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%83%9A%E3%83%AB%E3%82%BD%E3%83%8A4-%E3%82%B8%E3%83%BB%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AB%E3%83%86%E3%82%A3%E3%83%A1%E3%83%83%E3%83%88-%E3%82%A4%E3%83%B3-%E3%83%9E%E3%83%A8%E3%83%8A%E3%82%AB%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%8A-%E3%80%8CP4U%E3%82%A2%E3%83%AC%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B8%E3%82%B5%E3%82%A6%E3%83%B3%E3%83%89%E3%83%88%E3%83%A9%E3%83%83%E3%82%AFCD%E3%80%8D%E4%BB%98%E3%81%8D/dp/B007WPOPZ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1341621917&amp;sr=8-1">&yen;7,329</a>, roughly $92, versus $59.99 in North America.<br /><br />"The decision to region-lock P4 Arena was a business one, one that has very clearly affected how many perceive the project," Jabbari concluded, "but we ask you to please not overlook the exceptional efforts of the people behind the game and to work with us through constructive dialogue."<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/atlus-explains-persona-4-arenas-region-lock-expresses-surprise/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Atlus explains Persona 4 Arena's region lock, expresses surprise at 'force' of community disapproval</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/atlus-explains-persona-4-arenas-region-lock-expresses-surprise/">Atlus explains Persona 4 Arena's region lock, expresses surprise at 'force' of community disapproval</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 23:00:00 EST. In a bold display of Rambo-esque machismo, Reef has called the new game "Rambo: The Video Game," instantly tossing aside the eight previous <em>Rambo</em> video games released to date.<br /><br />Despite this apparent confidence, Reef has yet to reveal any media showing the actual game. "We have been quiet since we acquired the Rambo license last August," admitted Reef commercial director Craig Lewis in the latest missive. "During this time we have been dedicated to creating a videogame for consoles and PC that will allow Rambo fans and gamers across the globe to really get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon-set in battle." Reef plans to release more information about exactly how you'll get inside his skin (and about the game) between now and Gamescom.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/rambo-the-video-game-to-emerge-from-the-jungle-at-gamescom/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Rambo: The Video Game to emerge from the jungle at Gamescom</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/rambo-the-video-game-to-emerge-from-the-jungle-at-gamescom/">Rambo: The Video Game to emerge from the jungle at Gamescom</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 17:40:00 EST. The evidence remains in a <a href="http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=39559040&amp;postcount=426">screencap</a> taken by NeoGAFfer Pappasman and a post on <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/06/club-nintendos-2012-platinum-and-gold-prizes-revealed">IGN</a>, revealing the prizes that "Gold" and "Platinum" status holders will be able to choose this year.<br /><br />The Platinum-exclusive prizes include a fancy Mario playing card set or a collection of three posters. Both Gold and Platinum have the option of the usual desk calendar, or - a first for the Elite prizes - a Virtual Console game (<em>Super Mario Kart, Metroid 2, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again</em>, or <em>The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask</em>).<br /><br />All of these games are available on the normal Wii (or 3DS) shop, so we only recommend opting for one of those if you really, <em>really</em> don't like any of the exclusive prizes.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/club-nintendo-elite-prizes-briefly-revealed/">Club Nintendo Elite prizes briefly revealed</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 15:10:00 EST. Activision announced its own game based on the franchise (the TV show, specifically), which will be a first-person shooter developed by Terminal Reality. It's due next year for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.<br /><br />Players take the role of Daryl Dixon, traveling with his brother Merle toward Atlanta, attempting not to get zombitten on the way. An <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/07/06/activision-reveals-walking-dead-first-person-shooter">IGN post</a> about the game suggests players will have the option of using stealth to avoid the zombies, and will have to manage scarce resources. In addition, other characters will appear, and you'll have the choice to have them travel with you or not. Our tip: if they're zombies, don't invite them along.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/the-walking-dead-becoming-an-fps-from-terminal-reality/">The Walking Dead becoming an FPS from Terminal Reality</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 13:25:00 EST. He's not excited enough to make <em>Borderlands 2</em> for Vita, however.<br /><br />Speaking at the Rezzed conference today, Pitchford asked fans to bug Sony to get behind it. "Perhaps some of you folks can convince Sony to start that," Pitchford said. "We're too busy to develop it ourselves. But I know there are a lot of talented developers who could take our code, our source and our content and perhaps create something like that."<br /><br />Though <em>Borderlands</em> publisher 2K Games would seem like a more likely decision maker for a potential port, we could see Sony potentially being interested in putting such a popular game on its handheld, which could use some popular games.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Reader Stewox points out that Gearbox owns the <em>Borderlands</em> IP, and thus is free to talk to, say, Sony instead of its current publisher of choice.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/gearbox-wants-borderlands-2-on-vita-requests-sonys-help/">Gearbox wants Borderlands 2 on Vita, requests Sony's help</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 12:40:00 EST. Namco UK's Tales account <a href="http://twitter.com/TalesofU/status/221237444614426624">made the announcement public</a>. No specific date has been announced for the Western version, but the account has <a href="https://twitter.com/TalesofU/status/221244074756284416">specifically said</a> the game will come to America as well as Europe.<br /><br />In Japan, <em>Tales of Xillia </em>was released in September 2011, as a PS3 exclusive. A sequel was already announced for that region, due this year.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> A press release from Namco Bandai Games America (after the break) gives a 2013 release date to the North American release.<p><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/tales-of-xillia-localization-revealed-at-japan-expo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Tales of Xillia localization revealed at Japan Expo [update: coming in 2013]</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/06/tales-of-xillia-localization-revealed-at-japan-expo/">Tales of Xillia localization revealed at Japan Expo [update: coming in 2013]</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Fri, 06 Jul 2012 10:10:00 EST. Bowling gave the example of hunting for medical supplies.<br /><br />"You don't want to risk going out to forage in the game world, or maybe you did and can't find anything," he told <a href="http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2012-07-04-robert-bowling-the-human-element">GamesIndustry.biz</a>, "but you know that there's a pharmacy four miles down the road in the real world. So you go out and you're out and about in the real world. You open up <em>Human Element</em> on your iPad. We're overlaying the world of <em>Human Element</em> onto the Googlemaps API, FourSquare business API, we're taking your real world and merging it with your game world." Bowling claimed this would be possible anywhere GPS data was available.<br /><br />Bowling also suggested that connected experiences like the iPad game would begin to tell the <em>Human Element </em>story before the 2015 release date of the console game. "The 2015 deadline is the at-home, console experience. That experience, from a story standpoint, takes place 30 years after the event, after the apocalypse," he explained. "We can engage you in that universe a week, a month, a year after that event. Maybe through mobile, maybe through titles on the arcade, maybe through PSN, handheld titles. We can start telling that story leading up to that big event in 2015 where we tie them all together."<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/05/how-bowlings-human-element-brings-real-places-into-the-zombie/">How Bowling's 'Human Element' brings real places into the zombie world</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Jul 2012 20:15:00 EST. Most of the information is confidential by request, but a diagram showing the location of the FCC ID (above) suggests a hardware configuration that is shaped differently from the existing PS3 Slim - in fact, it's closer in shape to the original PS3.<br /><br />From the diagram alone, it's impossible to tell how this potential model differs in size. Perhaps it's tiny like a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PlayStation_(console)#PSone">PSOne</a>. Or perhaps it's just a slight cosmetic modification that will result in a functionally identical system. <a href="http://www.develop-online.net/news/41306/New-PS3-model-underway-suggests-FCC-filing">Develop</a> reported rumors that this new model will be officially revealed at Gamescom; we're checking in with Sony, but it's likely we won't hear anything official until the convention.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/05/new-playstation-3-model-may-be-in-the-works-suggests-fcc-filing/">New PlayStation 3 model may be in the works, FCC filing suggests</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Jul 2012 11:21:00 EST. However, this time, Namco's publishing instead of Capcom, and development is by Naruto fighting game developer (among <a href="http://www.joystiq.com/game/asuras-wrath">other things</a>) CyberConnect2 - so don't expect <em>Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle</em> to use the same style of gameplay as Capcom's arcade/Dreamcast fighter.<br /><br />The first trailer reveals that the PS3-exclusive <em>All Star Battle</em> is rendered in 3D, and features a variety of characters we're sure you'll recognize from the manga, including teeth guy. If you don't recognize anyone (like us), the game is tied to a new <a href="http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2012-07-05/jojo-bizarre-adventure-gets-tv-anime-in-october-and-game">TV anime</a> coming this year, so we'll have a chance to acquaint ourselves.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/05/jojos-bizarre-adventure-all-star-battle-on-the-way-from-asura/">JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle on the way from Asura's Wrath dev</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Thu, 05 Jul 2012 10:00:00 EST. The Joystiq team is celebrating Independence Day by declaring independence from writing about video games. Fireworks may be shot, grills may be lit, fireworks may be used to light grills, and grills may be used to light fireworks. <br /><br />However, we've lined up some great original stuff for you to read between your own pyrotechnics shows and savory charred foods. Enjoy it! We'll be enjoying our day off! We love writing news for you of course, but <em>day off</em>.<br /><br />[Image via <a href="http://www.shutterstock.com/cat.mhtml?lang=en&amp;search_source=search_form&amp;version=llv1&amp;anyorall=all&amp;safesearch=1&amp;searchterm=fireworks&amp;search_group=&amp;orient=&amp;search_cat=&amp;searchtermx=&amp;photographer_name=&amp;people_gender=&amp;people_age=&amp;people_ethnicity=&amp;people_number=&amp;commercial_ok=&amp;color=&amp;show_color_wheel=1#id=63405547&amp;src=b9f9a3baba39a64ecbbb2f5014dae238-1-0">Shutterstock</a>]<p style="padding:5px;background:#ffffcc;border:1px solid #ffff99;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.joystiq.com"><img src="http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.joystiq.com/media/feedlogo.gif" alt="Joystiq" style="float:left;padding:0 5px 5px 0;" /></a><a href="http://www.joystiq.com/2012/07/04/automated-message-from-absent-joystiq-staff-happy-independence/">Automated message from absent Joystiq staff: Happy Independence Day!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.joystiq.com">Joystiq</a> on Wed, 04 Jul 2012 08:00:00 EST.
